<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Installing a Lightroom Plugin manually</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you have downloaded the zipped file of the lightroom plugin folder, you must follow these steps.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">First, extract the downloaded zip file to a location where you want the plugin to reside. After you have extracted the zip file, you should have a folder named <em>LrSuperKeys.lrplugin</em></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For both Windows and macOS, a lightroom plugin is a folder containing all the files necessary for the plugin to operate. The extension of a Lightroom Plug-in folder is<strong><em> .lrplugin</em></strong>. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For LRSK, the plugin folder is named<strong><em> LrSuperkeys.lrplugin</em></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Here we can see the contents of that folder. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-style-default"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="748" height="400" src="http://lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/image-2.png" alt="" class="wp-image-1834" srcset="https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/image-2.png 748w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/image-2-300x160.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 748px) 100vw, 748px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Now in order for the LrSuperKeys application to communicate with Lightroom, Lightroom must be aware the plug-in exists. This can be done by either using the Lightroom Plug-in Manager or by moving the plugin folder into the default Lightroom plugin folder. </p>

<p class="has-background has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph" style="background:linear-gradient(135deg,rgb(238,238,238) 72%,rgb(169,184,195) 100%)"><strong>Adobe Lightroom default Plug-in Folders</strong><br><br><strong>Windows</strong>: <br>\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Modules\LrSuperKeys.lrplugin<br><br><strong>macOS</strong>:<br>/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules/<br><br><strong>By placing the plugin in one of these default Lightroom folders, Lightroom will automatically detect and enable the plugin when Lightroom is opened.</strong> <em>(Both the Windows and macOS installations place the plugin in this folder)</em></p>

<p class="has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Lightroom Plug-in Manager</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Open up the Lightroom Plug-in Manager by selecting the menu item <em>File &gt; Plug-in Manager</em> </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="892" height="574" src="http://lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/image.png" alt="" class="wp-image-1831" srcset="https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/image.png 892w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/image-300x193.png 300w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/image-768x494.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 892px) 100vw, 892px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Lightroom Plug-In Manager</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Press the <strong>Add </strong>button (bottom left) and locate the plug-in folder you downloaded and extracted. <em>(LrSuperKeys.lrplugin) </em></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Once you have selected the folder, you should see the plugin added to the list of plugins as shown above. You will also see an <strong>Enable </strong>and <strong>Disable </strong>button. If <strong>Enable </strong>is not selected, click on it now.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Start and Stop LRSK Plug-in</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">LRSK will automatically startup and shut down with Lightroom. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To manually start and stop LRSK, you can access the Lightroom menu items <strong>&#8220;Start LRSK&#8221;</strong> &amp; <strong>&#8220;Stop LRSK&#8221;</strong> located under <em>File &gt; Plug-in Extras </em></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">These values represent how much the slider value will change when either a Hotkey is pressed or a SpeedKey is used.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you entered a new value, but wish to return to the default value, simply press the X button next to it. The default value will automatically be entered.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Select Background AI has been added to the Speed Menu and to the Masking Actions</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>AI Select Background</strong> has been implemented into LRSK.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You can activate AI Select Background from the Speed Menu and with Action Keys.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="834" src="http://lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/SpeedMenu-1024x834.png" alt="Lightroom Speed Menu" class="wp-image-1707" srcset="https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/SpeedMenu-1024x834.png 1024w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/SpeedMenu-300x244.png 300w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/SpeedMenu-768x625.png 768w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/SpeedMenu-1536x1251.png 1536w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/SpeedMenu.png 1810w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When creating Masking Actions, you can now choose <strong>Select Background</strong>. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For example, you may wish to create an Action Key that will select the background with the Burn Local Adjustment preset. This Action will darken the background for subject separation. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">A toggle button has been added to the Speed Menu to enable/disable LRSK</h3>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Edit your existing Actions</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Previously if you wanted to make changes to an Action Key, you would have to delete it and then recreate it with your changes. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There is now an edit button (wrench icon) so you can make changes to your Actions.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">(macOS) Fixed scroll wheel issue to adjust sliders when using Logitech Logi Options+ drivers</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For macOS users only. In previous versions of LRSK, the scroll wheel on some Logitech mice would not work in LRSK if the Logi Options+ drivers were installed. This issue has been fixed and works as it should. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Also, with the Logi Options+ drivers installed on macOS, the forward and back buttons are inaccessible in LRSK. Meaning, we are not notified of these button presses and cannot advance or go back photos in Lightroom. To mimic this, use the Logi Option+ software to map the forward and back arrow keys to the forward and back buttons on your mouse.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">+/- Keyboard Shortcuts to Lightroom Sliders</h2>

<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>You asked for it, and we delivered. </strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-size:16px">You now have the ability to assign individual<strong> keyboard shortcuts</strong> for adjusting<strong> Lightroom sliders </strong>up or down. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-size:16px">Shortcut keys can overlap with Speed Keys. This means the same key can be assigned as a Speed Key or shortcut key. <em> (To learn more about Speed Keys, check out the <a href="https://lrsuperkeys.com/faqs/">FAQs</a>)</em> </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-size:16px">Tapping a key will activate the shortcut, while on the other hand, pressing and holding a key will activate the Speed Key.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="http://lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK4.2.0-SpeedKeys-1024x873.png" alt="" class="wp-image-1092" width="1024" height="873" srcset="https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK4.2.0-SpeedKeys-1024x873.png 1024w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK4.2.0-SpeedKeys-300x256.png 300w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK4.2.0-SpeedKeys-768x655.png 768w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK4.2.0-SpeedKeys.png 1119w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lightroom Shortcuts / Actions</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-size:16px">Since version 4.1 of LRSK, we have added the ability to choose from <strong>single key shortcuts</strong> <strong>or keyboard shortcuts in combination with the <em>Shortcut Speed Key</em> </strong><em>(tilde &#8220;~&#8221; key by default)</em><strong>. </strong> </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-size:16px">For example, pressing the<strong><em> Shortcut Speed Key </em></strong>with the 2 key <strong><em>( &#8220;~&#8221; + &#8220;2&#8221;)</em> </strong>will activate the keyboard shortcut to sync images with the prompt to choose which sliders to sync. However, pressing 2 by itself will sync the selected images without prompting you. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="http://lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK4.2.0-Shortcuts-1024x873.png" alt="" class="wp-image-1093" width="1024" height="873" srcset="https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK4.2.0-Shortcuts-1024x873.png 1024w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK4.2.0-Shortcuts-300x256.png 300w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK4.2.0-Shortcuts-768x655.png 768w, https://www.lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK4.2.0-Shortcuts.png 1119w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Our Shortcut Workflow</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-size:16px">In our workflow, we like to slightly soften our client&#8217;s skin. So to do this, we have created a shortcut to the color picker tool with the soften skin preset selected. Now when we press<strong> <em>&#8220;~&#8221;+&#8221;Q&#8221;</em></strong>, Lightroom will bring up the color picker tool allowing us to select a range of skin tones to soften.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-size:16px">Another common task that we do, is slightly brighten our subjects, to separate them from the background. All we have to do now to accomplish this is press the keyboard shortcut <strong><em>&#8220;~&#8221;+&#8221;A&#8221;</em></strong> and Lightroom will select the subject and apply the Dodge (Lighten) preset for us. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-size:16px">This prevents many mouse clicks and searches in the masking preset list, improving our workflow and reducing our editing time in Lightroom.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Fluidity Demo with MacBook Air (mid 2013)</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-video"><video height="720" style="aspect-ratio: 1280 / 720;" width="1280" controls src="http://lrsuperkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/LRSK-fluid.mp4"></video><figcaption>Demonstrating the fluidity of speed editing in Lightroom on a MacBook Air (mid 2013, 4GB Ram) with LrSuperKeys</figcaption></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Bug fixes</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-size:16px">LRSK v4.2 addresses a bug when applying the same key for a single key shortcut and combination key shortcut.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Lightroom Super Keys has been listed and is now available for download at <strong>SoftPedia.com</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You can download or see their review on their site: <a href="https://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Plugins/LrSuperKeys.shtml" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LrSuperKeys 1.6.0 (softpedia.com)</a></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Here is the description Softpedia.com gave our Lightroom Plugin:</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-style-default is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow"><p><strong>Improve your Adobe Lightroom photography workflow with this plugin that allows for superior slider and adjustment customizations</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>Adobe Lightroom</strong> users who rely heavily on the Development module and its subsequent, available adjustment methods, know that an efficient workflow depends on the used hotkeys, their accessibility, and overall ergonomics.</p><p></p><p>Designed specifically in order to address the issues of slider adjustments in Lightroom, <strong>LrSuperKeys</strong> offers users a tool that will help them increase their image processing efficiency, through several, purpose-fit functions.</p><p></p><p>In order to achieve a better image editing workflow, the plugin allows one to perform the slider adjustments without having to actually access the sliders in the regular sense. Basically, through a series of programmable keys, which work in conjuncture with the mouse buttons and wheel, users will be able to perform the adjustments by simply running the keys and mouse gestures, directly onto the image, or other areas of the screen.</p><p></p><p>Furthermore, the programmable functions library accepts a wide range of keys, each for a different parameter, such as image rotation, temperature, tint, shadows, saturation, etc. Used together with the mouse, these keys provide a finer adjustment degree, since the actual sliding area is larger.</p><p></p><p>Additionally, the plugin also offers a dedicated menu, which enables users to store several of their favorite adjustments and have them readily accessible at the click of a button, in a floating menu.</p></blockquote>
